5 Natural Remedies To Relieve Tooth Pain

Why does it always seems like the only time we get a toothache is in the middle of the night or on the weekend when the dental office is closed?

Tooth pain is intolerable, but here are a few remedies to help relieve the pain until you can make an appointment with your dentist.

  1. Clove Oil - You can get a vial of clove oil at any major stores. Dip a cotton ball in the clove oil and place directly on the ache. *You may have a burning sensation.
  2. Peppermint Oil - Take two peppermint leaves and chew on them until wet, then place them directly on the ache.
  3. Salt water rinse - Do this several times a day. Take warm water and salt (let dissolve) swish around your mouth. Spit and repeat as needed. *Do not swallow the salt water.
  4. Cinnamon and honey - Make a paste using ground cinnamon and pure honey and place directly on the affected tooth. * Recipe work's best warmed up.
  5. Alcohol - Take a few drops of pure vanilla extract and place directly on the tooth.

Tooth pain is usually an indicator of a serious condition that a dentist should evaluate. Taking care of the pain just masks the underlying problem. This guide is meant to help relieve tooth pain until you can see a dentist. Be sure to call your dentist as soon as you are able.
