The Centers for Disease and Control are using this month to educate and draw attention to hypertension (high blood pressure) conditions. According to the CDC, about 68 million people suffer from hypertension, and only approximately 16 million people know they have it. Having high blood pressure puts you at a dangerously high risk of heart attack and stroke. There are, however, precautionary steps you can take, such as proper diet and exercise, less stressful environments, and regular check ups with your primary care physician.
