As I was browsing around the ADA's website this morning, hoping to find an amazing article to enlighten our fans, I stumbled across a brief little article that will warm your heart on this chilly morning.
We all know the devastation Hurricane Sandy left behind this past October. So much damage, so many people left without homes, so many businesses in ruins. As they continue to rebuild and reconstruct, basic health care needs, such as dental, are unfortunately still not a priority. It could take years for all the businesses to bounce back, but right now, rebuilding the city, homes, and restoring the coast takes precedence.
This is why I was happy to read that four states have come together, on their own accord, to raise money for all the NJ Dental Association members who suffered due to Hurricane Sandy.
The dental associations of California, Connecticut, Washington DC, and Rhode Island came together and raised nearly $50,000 for dentists in need in NJ! Even better, the NJ Dental Association itself MATCHED the donations, making the total nearly $100,000! It doesn't seem like much, but for some of the dentists who lost everything, this could be life changing.
It's nice to think about the amount of GOOD that is out there. I hope you all have a beautiful Wednesday!
